Educational requirement for CSS is graduation or bachelor/Equivalent in any discipline from Pakistani or foreign university, duly recognized by HEC.
A degree in any discipline that was completed before cutoff date is acceptable for CSS.
Which degree is best for CSS?
Students often ask which degree is best for CSS. Like many believe that doing masters in English Literature or Linguistics might increase their chances of success. Through all the exams in CSS are held in English, however students relating to other disciplines fare equally well. To conclude, there is no such degree that will boost your chances of success. However, habit of book reading and creative writing will help a lot.
Is Masters degree required for CSS?
Every now and then you might see a propaganda on social media that FPSC going to change eligibility requirement. Author is of the opinion that there is no such planning in near future of changing bachelor degree requirement for CSS.
A candidate holding bachelor degree/Equivalent (BS/BSC/BS/B.Com/ADP/B.Tech, etc.) are eligible.
Is Masters degree helpful or better for CSS?
Attainment of a higher degree is always a good choice. However, as far as, CSS Exam is concerned, it doesn’t make big difference. Author is of the opinion that if a candidate dreams to Join Civil Service of Pakistan then he/she must sit for exam after graduation. Rather than doing Masters he/she must develop good reading and writing habit.
Is F.Sc student eligible for CSS?
No, F.Sc students are not eligible for CSS, one must have bachelor degree or equivalent.
My final result is not declared. Can I apply for CSS?
No. Final result of the degree must be declared before cutoff date. i.e. 31st December of that year.
