Islamic Studies for CSS, PMS

Islamic Studies is an important compulsory subject in the PMS exam (a combination of both subjective and objective). The syllabus and paper pattern of PMS Islamic Studies is different from CSS Islamic Studies. It carries 100 marks and has great importance in improving the aggregate of total marks in PMS examination. The syllabus of CSS is easy to analyze as compared to PMS. So, a comprehensive and technical approach is required to score good marks in this paper.

Students can score 80+ marks if they follow the proper strategy to prepare for the exam.

Important topics of Islamic Studies to prepare for PMS Exam:

  • The 8 topics of Seerat-un-Nabi.
  • Systems in Islam including the political system, social system and administrative system.
  • Basic problems of human life.
  • Social systems in Islam
  • Morality in Islam
  • Relationship of morality and faith.
  • Islamic Concept of character building is the sole topic of PMS.
  • Sulah Hudaibiya, Misaq-e-Madina, Khutba Hajjatul Wida are important topics for short questions.

The candidates are required to have a good preparation over the topics of Islamic Studies prescribed in the syllabus. The paper of Islamic Studies is the only paper of PMS exam where the candidates have the option to attempt the paper in English or Urdu. During the exam, we suggest you read questions in both English and Urdu.

The candidates who opt for solving it in Urdu can score maximum Marks because it develops a better understanding of the question paper. Good handwriting can create a good impression. Moreover, it’s important to get in touch with articles and newspapers, especially with religious issues.

The knowledge of the Holy Quran can also help the candidates to solve the question paper in a better manner. A candidate who mentions the number of verses and sayings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in inverted commas can give a good impression about his level of preparation.
